We saw what trust could unlock in commerce. Then we set out to build it for East Africa.
Founded with a commercial vision. Engineered into a connected ecosystem.

East Africa’s entrepreneurs are ready. Commerce infrastructure must catch up.
Across East Africa, entrepreneurs have the ambition to build. What is often missing is the infrastructure that makes digital commerce more trustworthy, accountable and dependable.
Across the region, merchants and buyers still face fragmented payments, inconsistent seller verification, limited delivery visibility and difficult cross-border sourcing. These gaps make commerce harder to trust and harder to scale.
DADATO is being built to connect these missing pieces through secure checkout, seller verification, tracked fulfillment, B2B international sourcing and coordinated trade logistics.
Practical mechanisms designed into each transaction.
Payment workflows are designed to provide transaction visibility and, where supported, connect payment-release steps with fulfillment status.
Seller onboarding includes verification steps before marketplace access, helping buyers identify more accountable sellers.
Orders move through tracked last-mile workflows with delivery-status visibility and proof-of-delivery support.
DatoGlobal supports wholesale supplier discovery, quotations, verification and inspection coordination, with approved goods able to transition into DatoCargo for freight coordination.
Starting in Djibouti. Designed for East Africa.
DADATO is building the mechanisms that make trusted digital commerce repeatable, accountable and scalable.
One vision. Built through complementary leadership.
Houssein Mohamed Douale originated DADATO’s business concept and commercial vision. His path later included studies in international trade, economics and Business Chinese, followed by an MBA, deepening his understanding of commerce across markets.
To turn the concept into working technology, Houssein brought in Golden Tendekai Mumanikidzwa, an engineer and computer scientist with advanced academic training in systems architecture.
Houssein leads the commercial vision, strategy and regional development; Golden leads the platform’s technical architecture and engineering.

Vision, Mission & Values
A more connected and trusted East African commerce ecosystem, where businesses and consumers can trade locally and internationally with greater confidence.
To build connected commerce infrastructure that brings together marketplace services, secure checkout, tracked delivery, B2B international sourcing and trade logistics — starting in Djibouti and expanding market by market across East Africa.
Trust is built through clear processes, verification, transaction visibility and accountable fulfillment. We design these mechanisms into the experience from the beginning.
Our products are designed around the practical realities of East African commerce — from addressing and fulfillment to payment access, international sourcing and market connectivity.
We begin in Djibouti and grow deliberately, adapting the ecosystem to the regulatory, commercial and operational realities of each market.
We aim to incorporate market-entry requirements, payments, data protection, tax and other applicable regulatory considerations into the operating model from the beginning.
Technology matters when it improves real commercial outcomes — helping merchants source more confidently, sellers reach customers and buyers transact with greater visibility and accountability.
“Trusted commerce is not created by promises. It is built through verification, visibility and accountability at every step.”
— DADATO Group
